Change and reset user password in WordPress

WordPress is a popular content management system that is used for creating websites and blogs. To fully utilize your web, it is important to have access to the administration. And to access the administration, you need the correct password. This article will show you how to change your user password in case you have forgotten it or just need to set a stronger password.

Logging into the administration

First, you need to log in to the administration of your WordPress website. To log in, click on the “Log in” or “Login” link at the top of the page. Alternatively, go directly to the administration address, which is usually in the form of www.websiteaddress.com/wp-admin/. Then enter your current username and password and click on the “Log in” button.

Password change

Once logged in, click on the “Users” icon at the top of the page and then click on “Profile”. In the “Change Password” section, fill in the “Old Password” and “New Password” fields twice. Click on the “Update Profile” button and done, your password has been successfully changed.

Forgotten password recovery

If you have forgotten your password, you can have it sent to your email address that you provided during registration. Go to the login page and click on “Forgot Password?”. Then enter your email address and instructions for resetting your password will be sent to you. Follow the instructions and after successful confirmation, your password will be reset.
